The houses were open. The rooms were off to the sides and everything was around the well lit open area. I think it would be a bit cold in the winter. The real interesting thing here is rain collection. It rains a lot here and the water would run into this area and be caught and stored for use. Again harmonizing with nature. Inviting it into the house and making it work for you, impressive. Most of the woodwork is original from 1368-1644.
