A power converter is needed to run most things. This was a major problem that I have run into here as an electronics person. I blew up a HP printer here before I had this device. It wasn't fun. I was able to get a person to make a converter for me though that has been extremely reliable. It is quite perfect actually. The outlets in the wall will only accept a certain kind of plug actually it is two straight prongs of the same size. In America ours are offset with one being bigger than the other so they don't fit well into the wall. This was mad with a copper coil to convert the electricity from 220 to 110. Then a 6 outlet socket was added and now I can plug in multiple things at once, very nice. I know it looks a bit sketchy but I assure you it works well.
