Gu Mei Qun is the woman on the left. She is a wonderful Yixing teapot maker and is very famous in China and abroad. She really educated us on many aspects involving Yixing and the incredible art that is happening in the town. I would like to say that it is becuase of her we had an incredible experience. I will be featuring the majority of Yixing involving Gu Me Qun. Now, the woman on the right is the oldest living Yixing teapot artist in history. This woman changed the face of teapot making. From what I understand, she was the first person to make teapots in the shape of fruit, and from then on it blew up. I can only tell you she is historically important. Her teapots are not sold for less than 100,000 US dollars. She is a wonderful woman and invited us into her home with a Chinese smile and warmth, thank you. With that said let's discover Yixing and the many traditions there.
