The Kiln was built in the late 70's by Mr. Jing and a team of people. It is a 180' long and big enough to stand up in throughout the majority of the firing chamber. The firing process starts far at the bottom low end of the kiln then the stoking of the kiln moves up to the higher end. The stoke ports then become these round ports that you see next to the wood. These are opened and closed by clay discs that you see next to the portals. The wood used is a combination of cut wood and shrubbery. The majority of it is pine to burn hot and fast. I will talk more later on the firing specifics.
